IMPACT OF MENSTRUAL DISORDERS ON HEALTH OF ADOLESCENT GIRLS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract
Background: Menstrual disorders is the most common gynaecological problem among adolescent girls which may affect normal life. Previous studies reported that 60-80 % girls suffering from menstrual disorders. To improve the health status of adolescent girls by assessing the impact of menstrual disorders on their health.
Methodology: Secondary data analysis is used to study research area.
Results: Out of 10 similar studies, result showed that average participants were 383 from mean age of menarche was 12 ± 1year. Although dysmenorrhea, PMS, irregular menstrual cycle were most common menstrual disorders found among the adolescent girls. Ultimately menstrual disorders affect the health status of adolescent girls leading to headache, nausea vomiting, constipation, sometimes diarrhoea, school absenteeism, less part in outdoor activity and anaemia. The study Concluded that menstrual disorders has impact on health of adolescent girls which may affect the quality of life. The study recommended that lifestyle modification can be helpful to overcome the problems of menstrual disorders.
