This comprehensive review explores the significance of biodiversity in sustainable development through an examination of its ecological, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions. The paper discusses the current state of global biodiversity, the drivers of biodiversity loss, and the consequences for ecosystems and human well-being. It also evaluates the role of biodiversity in key sectors such as agriculture, medicine, and tourism, highlighting the economic value derived from biodiversity. Furthermore, the review addresses policy frameworks and initiatives aimed at conserving and managing biodiversity, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and community engagement.
